We arrived to our hotel after dark so we had no idea what we would see in the morning! Here it is!
Khan's Palace - Not Star Trek Khan, a real Khan! This was his summer palace, 18th century. We were not allowed to photograph the inside, but the walls and ceilings were covered in ornate paintings of flowers and animals and battle scenes full of symbolic imagery as well as stained glass looking to the outside. Spectacular!

A woman selling things just outside the palace walls, whom our guide has known for 15 years!
Stained Glass Workshop - The stained glass in the Khan's Palace has not glue, nor nails, nor anything holding it together except the precision of the cut and placement of the glass and the wood which holds it, tongue and groove like. This stained glass artist is in a line of 7 generations of artists and their work is in the Vatican even!
Caravanserai in Sheki - Where people would stop while traveling to trade their wares.
On the street and in a sweet shop:

They don't make the silk fabric on these machines anymore, but they were fascinating to see!

Kish Villiage:
Samovar Tea

These are little dumplings with a bit of lamb meat inside that they put in a tasty broth! Yum!

Village Church - Albanian, 6th Century. Tor Heyerdahl did some excavating here and discovered skeletons that indicated that the Vikings came from Azerbaijan and went to Scandinavia (not the other way around).
